Saturday, November 22nd 1-3PM
In this workshop, participants of all religious & cultural backgrounds are invited to join us and explore the creative process of ornament making using traditional handbuilding techniques and tools such as cookie cutters, stamps, underglazes, etc. to create 3 unique, handmade ornaments, perfect for gifting or personal use in your home this holiday season. Easthampton Clay will finish your ornaments in a glaze selection of your choice and reach out to let you know when they are ready for pick up!

Do you want to build a snowman? In this workshop, kids and teens (ages 7-14) will learn to hand built their own snowman figure (or bud vase, or lantern!) with clay. Join Grace for a fun afternoon in the studio, where students will use basic handbuilding techniques and surface design principals to create a seasonal snowman that they can use to decorate the season! All materials are included, and Easthampton Clay will finish student snowman projects in a glaze color of their choice just in time for winter!

In this two day workshop students will learn to craft altered teapots under the tutelage of renowned potter Maya Machin. Through a series of demonstrations and hands-on instruction, participants will choose from a variety of altered forms to produce a teapot that encapsulates each artist’s personal style and skillsets. Explore niches, tunnels, nooks and a variety of spout shapes, elevating a timeless ceramic forms.

Participants should be experienced in wheel throwing with confidence; working and centering a minimum of 5lbs on the wheel. This workshop is best suited for potters who have progressed beyond the basics and are looking to elevate their repertoire of skills.

Join us for an evening of light! Participants will be hand building a unique ceramic luminary that is sure to brighten your home this winter.

A portion of proceeds from this workshop will be donated to the Children's Advocacy Center of Hampshire County, an organization dear to Easthampton Clay's heart that services children and families in need of therapeutic healing. All materials are included in the cost of the workshop, and EHC will inform participants when their work is fired and ready for pickup.

In this workshop we take a deep dive into handle making. Participants will learn the proper way to securely attach handles, how to make handles uniquely your own, and we will explore the ergonomics and consider important functional aspects of a good handle. This workshop is designed for beginner - advanced potters who are looking for skill growth. Handles will not be fired; this is strictly a skill building opportunity for those looking to advance skills. You will receive templates and handouts to take home

In this workshop, participants will learn to construct a unique coffee pour over vessel using traditional slab and handbuilding techniques. Design and craft your own coffee pour over that will nestle into your favorite mugs for years to come. This project makes the perfect gift for coffee lovers, or something to make you smile when you start your day each morning. At the end of this workshop you will select a glaze of your choice that Easthampton Clay will finish your project with!
